HIGH RANKING PHILIPPINO PRIESTS BOOK ABOUT THE OCCULT & PARANORMAL
"If you are humble, nothing can touch you; neither praise nor disgrace, because you know what and who you are. Remember, Humility is the only virtue the devil cannot imitate." Sec. Cerge Remonde
A relaunch of the book "Exorcism Encounters with the Paranormal and the Occult" by Fr. Jose Francisco C. Syquia was held at the Sanctuario de San Antonio in Forbes Park.
Fr. Jocis, as he is called by friends, is the director of the Archdiocese of Manila Office of Exorcism so he speaks and writes with authority of the local church.
The slim book is published by the Shepherds Voice of Bro. Bo Sanchez and I recommend it for everyone, especially this Lenten season.
It is not light reading because some parts might scare the reader, especially if: (1) he dabbles in the occult or espouses the New Age, and/or believes they are harmless, (2) doesnt believe in the existence of the Satan and his evil minions, (3) since he does not believe there are devils, then evil does not exist either and (4) therefore they have no powers!
How wrong he is on all counts!
The book clearly shows the existence of the Satan and the awesome evil powers he has at his command. But Fr. Jocis also proves the existence of an Almighty God who has incomparable power over spirits and demons.
As I said, the book is no light reading and must be read over and over again or chapter by chapter to be properly digested.
I havent finished the book, I must confess, because yes, it is a how-to deliver your home from evil spirits, how to detect evil spirits, family curses, bondage or addictions and how to help people rid themselves of them.
Haunted houses are also discussed in the book, and how to rid the house of malevolent spirits that may be dwelling there. Feng shui has nothing on Fr. Jocis book.
Some advise: When moving into a new house that has been resided in, it may be wise to check who the previous occupants were.
If the new occupants feel uneasy in the "atmosphere" of the new house, ask a priest to say the deliverance prayer before the actual blessing. Any priest can do this.
This must be followed by the consecration of the family to the Two Hearts of Mary and Jesus.
The priest can also leave extra holy water or exorcised salt for the familys use. Sprinkle holy water around the house at least once a week.
Use holy water for making the sign of the Cross on your family members foreheads.
Make sure that the house has a number of rooms with blessed objects like crucifixes on the door of every room and the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus/Immaculate Heart of Mary at the front part of the house. This manifests that the home belongs to God.
Fr. Joscis recommends daily family prayers especially the Holy Rosary.
And in an old house where there are positive signs of malevolent or harmful paranormal occurrences, Fr. Jocis suggests an exorcism be performed.
