PARANORMAL GROUP SEEKING NEW HAUNTS
Ghost hunters are on the look-out for more spooky sites in Lincolnshire - because the old haunts have become too boring.
Paranormal investigators say they want to find more places off the beaten track to search for spirits.
Paul Drake, from Stow, near Gainsborough, is a veteran of more than 35 paranormal investigations and has worked with TV paranormal experts like Derek Acorah.
He launched his own team, Paranormal Links, last July.
They now want to identify old houses, hotels and even hospitals with stories of eerie events which they can explore.
So far, his team have investigated ghostly goings-on in homes, pubs and hotels across the Midlands.
But Mr Drake (45) believes there are plenty more places in Lincolnshire with more interesting stories to tell.
"We want to go into places where other people haven't been," he said.
"There are lots of sites where loads of groups have been and exhausted them.
"We're looking for something a little bit out-of-the-ordinary."
Mr Drake's team includes three mediums and six investigators armed with EMS meters, temperature sensors and movement detectors. They come from as far away as Newcastle.
He said the group had already unearthed unusual activities at places like Grimsby's Market Hotel and Coach House pub, along with the Corner Pin pub in Leicester.
But he has his sights set on previously unmapped sites in Lincolnshire, like the old St John's Hospital and Old Nocton Hall.
He hopes eventually to publish more on the county's paranormal activities.
"When you look through the literature, there's not much catalogued about the ghosts of Lincolnshire," said Mr Drake, who works as a computer technician.
"If you can go to somewhere like York it's all very well documented.
"I think that's something we can work on."
Caterer Gemma Holding (22), from Lincoln's Ermine West estate, said she enjoys watching paranormal investigation programmes on TV, but thinks Lincoln could hold much more mystery than previously thought.
"Lincolnshire is such a big county and with all the old RAF bases here there must be loads of stories we haven't heard of yet," she said.
"I'd like to hear about investigations at St John's Hospital - it has always spooked me out when I've gone past there. I'm pretty sure it's got to be haunted."
