An historic mansion in the Ledbetter Heights neighborhood of Shreveport has become the subject of a paranormal investigation.

Louisiana Spirits Paranormal Investigations (LaSpirits) is the largest such group in Louisiana and are a part of the TAPS family (The Atlantic Paranormal Society).

LaSpirits spent the night Friday in the Logan Mansion, owned by Billy and Vicki LeBrun.

The LeBruns say there has been some unexplainable activity, including doors closing, sightings of apparitions and just plain eerie feelings felt throughout the 1897 Queen Anne Victorian.

The story goes that back in the day, the owner of the offered room and board to local teachers. One of the teachers had a little girl, who fell out the attic window and died. There have since been reports of sightings of the child's spirit in a window, as well as throughout the house.

Friday night, a team of seven paranormal investigators set up their equipment all over the historic house, from attic to basement. Using infrared cameras, handheld cameras, and still photography, along with EMF (Electronic Field Meters), audio recording equipment and dousing rods, they watched, listened and waited.

Vicki LeBrun says she agreed to the investigation, because she thought it would be interesting to see where the disturbances are coming from. "It would be nice to validate that there are things going on," LeBrun says.

According to their web site, LaSpirits seeks to debunk as often as they seek to prove the presence of spirits.

They've also done investigations at the Municipal Auditorium and several private homes in Shreveport.

Vikki Fleming of LaSpirits says it will take a few days to review the recordings and information gathered at the Logan Mansion.
