DREAM TURNED MY LIFE AROUND

WHEN Eva Josa tragically lost her friend in a car accident she abandoned all her hopes of becoming a star.
Aspiring TV presenter Eva, 25, had grown up with her friend Vanessa Cavanagh and they had been pursuing their dreams of becoming celebs together.
Attending auditions with one another as well as forming their own pop group, the teens from West London was determined to make it big.
At the time of her death in 2002, Vanessa had appeared on Pop Idol, getting into the final 50, and was about to release a debut single.
But sadly, talented Vanessa died when the car she was travelling in with her boyfriend went out of control in Greenford, West London.
"When Vanessa died, I gave up all my showbiz dreams. We used to do all our castings and performing together. I thought 'I can't do this anymore, not without my partner in crime.' She was like a sister to me," Eva says.
So Eva decided to pursue a career in hospitality and was about to start work as a hotel's customer services manager.
Then a dream turned her life around.
"Around one year after Vanessa passed away, I was just about to start a course in customer services. Then I had a dream.
"In it, Vanessa came to me and said: 'What are you doing? You need to go back out there. You need to be what I can't be now and do it for the both of us.'"
Eva was so surprised by the dream she decided to visit a psychic: "I didn't tell her anything about the dream, but she repeated the same things that Vanessa had said back to me. It was really strange."
So Eva quit her hotel job, moved back in with her parents and decided to begin her bid to be a star again.
After winning the Miss London contest, and armed with her good looks, she was inundated with modelling offers.
"When I got back into it, offers began to flood in. I appeared on reality shows on Channel Four and Five and got work as a presenter for Ministry of Sound Radio," Eva says.
And Eva, who works part time assisting disabled people, is now set to host her own RnB show on Sky channel Venus TV this summer.
But she says she will never forget her best friend: "I do everything for Vanessa now, all I want to do is get out there and make her proud."
